Aquabotics is a team of engineering students enthusiastic about the fields of robotics and exploration.

Mission

To design, build and test an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) capable of completing a series of challenges, and to participate internationally in the annual RoboSub competition, and other AUV contests, as a collaborative team of all engineering disciplines.

Vision

The goal of Aquabotics is to continually offer students opportunities to engage in project-based learning and to gain real-world expertise through practical applications of ever-changing engineering, while aiming to contribute to the field of underwater autonomous systems.

Caretta 2.0

Caretta 2.0 incorporates new improvements in the mechanical and electrical design, as well as achieving the ability to perform series of tasks autonomously. Having fulfilled the requirements to be an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), Caretta 2.0 is expected to compete in RoboSub 2020.

Above is an image of the first version of Caretta, named after the indigenous species of sea turtles uniquely native to the Mediterranean, as a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV). ROVs are essential to aquatic navigation and can be operated using a controller.
